Interior Design Project earns LEED Silver Rating

PK Studios’ Interior Design Department is pleased to announce that their recently completed hospice project has earned a LEED Silver Rating.
This building is the first LEED project in Lehigh Acres and is the fifth in Lee County with such a distinction.  The client, Hope Healthcare Services is very pleased with the project and plans to use many of the solutions developed during the design process as new standards for their future projects.

PK Completes Hazelden Clinic in Downtown Naples

PK Studios has recently completed construction documents on a tenant improvement project that will occupy the majority of the retail and residential space in one of downtown Naples’ newest projects – the Six10 building at 10th Street North and 6th Avenue North (pictured below).

The new tenant is Hazelden, an addiction treatment center founded in 1949 in Minnesota.
The project will have a 48-bed capacity and ‘feature an innovative recovery community approach coordinating recovery principles in life and work. It will serve those needing intermediate level addiction treatment services with a lifestyle …

Project Spotlight: Cambier Park Band Shell (Naples)

The Cambier Park Band Shell is an award-winning renovation project for the most important park and cultural center in Naples. PK Studios won the commission to take an existing park bandshell and create a state-of-the-art facility and centerpiece for the City.

The new band shell serves as a home to all types of performances from big-band concerts to Shakespeare in the Park, and can entertain audiences as large as 7,000 people.

To cover the expanded stage and withstand 80 tons of wind uplift, a polyester fabric roof was used, which transfers loads to foundation pilings …

Project Spotlight: FGCU Naples Center

As architects in a relatively change-averse cityscape like that of Naples, it’s exciting when a project comes along that calls for a lot of expression of our design abilities and a unique architectural statement. One such design was the FGCU (Florida Gulf Coast University) Naples Center, a 250-seat chamber hall and adjoining educational facility located in the heart of Naples.

PK Studios Wins Prestigious AIA Florida Design Award

PK Studios is pleased to announce that our firm has been awarded a 2009 AIA Florida Design Award for Unbuilt Merit for the design of the Kayak Launch for Collier County. The Kayak Launch was also the recipient of a 2007 local design award from AIA Florida Southwest.

Recognition from our colleagues at the state level reaffirms the project’s unique design. We are pleased to be recognized in the company of such names as Oppenheim Architecture, Arquitectonica, and Zyscovich Architects.

Project Profile: Ole at Lely Clubhouse

The Ole Community, located within Lely Resort in Naples, has changed the face of master-planned communities in Naples and Florida forever.

Naples City Council Re-Zones Gordon River CCRC to Planned Development

PK Studios is pleased to report that the Naples City Council voted 4-3 on Wednesday to approve the new land use designation of “senior living” for the City of Naples and to rezone the property that will become the Bridges at Gordon River CCRC to a planned development zoning designation.
Update 9-16-2009: Naples City Council cast the final vote this evening, in a 6-1 affirmation to complete the entitlement, annexation, and re-zoning process and approve the project to proceed.

This past Friday, PK Studios submitted the Olé development (PDF), located at Lely Resort in Naples, for the ULI (Urban Land Institute) Award for Excellence: The Americas. Gulfshore Business Daily announced Thursday that The David Lawrence Center and Foundation received an $81,000 grant from the Telford Foundation. The grant will “support prevention and educational programs in the [recently expanded] Children’s Outpatient Services Center.” According to Gulfshore Business, expansion began last June and demand for Children’s Outpatient Services has increased nearly 80 percent.

Project Spotlight: Naples Underpass Art Gallery

Over the last year, PK Studios has been heavily involved in the design of the Naples Underpass Art Gallery, in cooperation with the United Arts Council of Collier County, the Von Liebig Art Center (Naples Art Association), and the City of Naples (Florida).
