PK Studios is pleased to announce that we have won a DEA Award from the ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) in the category of Workplace/Office Design under 10,000 SF.
This year, the society had a record amount of entries ranging from West Palm down to Miami & the Keys and across the state up to Collier & Hendry County.
The winning project was PK Studios’ own office building in Naples. While we wrote about the building last year, here’s a brief recap of the project:

At the November 12th meeting of the American Institute of Architects in Estero, PK Studios won four of the seven awards given this year in various design excellence categories.
The projects recognized by our peers this year were:
Conditioned Air Warehouse & Office (Built Excellence for Restorations & Additions)
Advanced Medical Center (Built Excellence for Interior Design)
Attainable & Sustainable: Community Design for Bayshore CRA (Merit in Unbuilt Design)
Collier County Kayak Launch (Award of Honor for Architectural Graphics)

Open the latest issue of Gulfshore Business and you’ll find the Landmark Designs feature, highlighting “commercial spaces that make a statement in Southwest Florida.”
According to the magazine, these awards are meant to recognize projects that are “distinguished by outstanding form to suit function, which legendary architect and interior designer Frank Lloyd Wright once declared ‘should be one, joined in a spiritual union.’”

Jeffrey Curl, landscape architect at PK Studios in Naples, was featured as a guest commentator today in the Naples Daily News. The article, entitled “Put power of place in Naples building renaissance,” evaluates “where we are, where we want to be and how we got to where we are” in the context of the Naples man-made environment.
The past, Curl says, had “…simplicity – nature and a potential in paradise; modest cottages, ‘shotgun’ houses which incorporated windows directly across from one another for cross-ventilation…” The homes were “sustainable, livable and facilitated …

Sunday’s News-Press Social Scene section featured Matthew Kragh, principal, partner, and COO of PK Studios, Inc. Matthew and his father, Jim, are pictured in Photo #2 with our colleagues from GRAEF and Dr. Wilson G. Bradshaw, president of Florida Gulf Coast University. According to the article, the 17th Annual FGCU Founder’s Cup Golf Tournament, held at Mediterra, raised more than $60,000 for the FGCU Foundation.

Last Wednesday, PK Studios and our newest client, Ascot Development, were featured positively in a major Fort Myers newspaper. Ascot and PK Studios presented new plans for a 48-acre center in Estero, at the corner of Corkscrew Road and Three Oaks Parkway. The article reports that members of the Estero council were very impressed with the new PK Studios plans and development standards.
